When it wasn’t quite so hot, Garry was jetting off across Europe to the Langdon Foundation which is situated near Dusseldorf, Germany & Calverts in Spain, to build these spectacular images for Land Rover.
A bit about the shoot in Garry’s own words,
“We had limited time at the Langdon foundation so we ran two cameras at dawn and dusk to get all the backplates. We supplemented the lighting inside the building to give it more volume and used a slave car for framing and reflection information.
The hero car was shot in Spain and was rigged as initially these shots were to be in motion, however in post the shots changed to statics. The clean and fluid reflections from the rigged car gives a luminous quality that a static shot wouldn’t have and works really well.
A wonderful team from Spark44 Birmingham; Connor, Billy & Jen and Ben from ‘Time is on our Side’ who produced the German part of the shoot did a fantastic job and were a pleasure to work with.”
We’ve also jammed packed this post with BTS to show you what really goes into a car shoot.
